CiviCRM is awesome but it is not a solution - it is a tool. People capable of using tools effectively are the solution. Learning new technology is one of the most challenging tasks non-profit staff can do. Not everyone is "a natural" but you don't need them to be to use CiviCRM effectively. You do, however, need a plan not only to transition to CiviCRM but continue to function with CiviCRM when turnover occurs. This presentation will cover:
- Understanding the CiviCRM ecosystem and your place in it
- Getting going with Civi by developing a training plan
- Resources discussion: books, classes, videos, support services, webinars and more
- Identifying roles and building staff workflows
- Acknowledging "escalation thresholds" when you reach externally for support
- Hiring well – what to look for
- Success (and failure) stories
- Keep on keeping on - expectations of the future
