This session will provide a broad overview of CiviCRM implementations in Joomla. We'll spend the first half of our time discussing the basics of implementation, best practices, and overview of Joomla-specific extensions, and various other considerations for the Joomla environment. The second half of the session will be reserved for open questions from the audience to help you work through any concerns or issues you've encountered (as it relates to implementation in Joomla). We will cover:
- Installation in Joomla, including discussing the option to split the CiviCRM tables into a separate database
- Compatibility review
- Handling CiviCRM upgrades
- Override directory configuration
- Best practices for code customization/management
- ACL considerations
- Building links to CiviCRM content
- Review of Joomla-specific extensions
